Definitive guide
Best Informational Websites of 2024 | 34 Outstanding Examples
Hi – it's Ralph here 👋
In the past 10 years, I’ve designed 35+ informational websites. Here’s what I learned:
What Matters in Informational Web Design (My Experience)
What I learned over the years building informational websites:
1. Visual Aids
Use images, infographics, videos and charts, figures, tables, etc. to support the text and to make the information digestable. I recommend incorporating captions and alt text of media elements to enable easy accessibility to people with disabilities.
2. Search Functionality
They should be able to find certain content without much effort with an efficient search option. Some of the features that I recommend incorporating are filters and a sorting functionality.
3. References and Citations
I suggest that you link or provide the references for factual information in the site to enhance your credibility. I advise you to put reputable sources and further reading.
Focus on this, and you’ll be fine.
PS: I suggest taking a look at the website examples below. Get inspired by their designs and see which website builders they’ve used. Best of luck!
